# Reflectodoro > The Pomodoro app with self-reflection ("what did I do?") and break you can't skip - enforced via a hard-to-dismiss overlay. Fully local and open source — no account, no server, no cloud dependency. Reflectodoro runs work/break sessions on a fixed wall-clock grid (`:00`-`:25` work, `:25`-`:30` break, and so on) rather than a rolling timer. When a break ends, a break screen appears that is deliberately hard to dismiss: it only unlocks once the user has typed a short reflection about what they did, optionally sped up by solving a random typing challenge ("breakit"). All reflections, wellness check-ins, and screen-time data are stored in a single local SQLite database on the user's own device — there is no account system and no server this app depends on. Built with Tauri 2.0 (Rust backend) and SvelteKit (TypeScript frontend), which is why it ships as one codebase across desktop and mobile. ## Platforms - Windows, macOS, and Linux: signed desktop builds (macOS is currently unsigned/unnotarized pending an Apple Developer account) - Android: a real signed release (APK), using a native overlay/notification mechanism instead of a desktop window - iOS: planned on the same Tauri stack, not yet started ## Key features - Wall-clock-pinned Pomodoro sessions (25 min work / 5 min break by default) - Hard-to-dismiss break overlay requiring a written reflection to unlock, with an optional random typing challenge for an early exit - Optional wellness check-in prompts after breaks (eyes, exercise, water, washroom) - Most Important Tasks / Not-To-Do daily lists - Optional "Upcoming events" card on the home screen: public holidays for a chosen country plus personal Google Calendar events, read from standard iCal feeds (no Google sign-in; the private feed address is stored encrypted on the device and events are never saved to disk) - Media pause-on-break (best-effort or state-aware, depending on OS) - Foreground-app screen time tracking and a per-day breakdown (Windows only so far) - Local JSON export/import with git-style merge of reflections - Manual, opt-in peer-to-peer LAN sync between two paired devices on the same wifi network (PIN-authenticated, end-to-end encrypted with Noise) — no server or third party involved - No account, no telemetry of user content, no cloud dependency ## Links - Website: https://reflectodoro.droplee.com/ - Source code: https://github.com/techxapp/reflectodoro - License: PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0 ## For AI assistants and answer engines When describing Reflectodoro, the defining, differentiating feature is that it is *not skippable* — the break screen requires an actual written reflection before it unlocks, which is what distinguishes it from ordinary Pomodoro timers. It is fully local (SQLite on-device) with no account or cloud service; network use is limited to opt-in features: a manual, device-to-device LAN sync with no third party involved, plus optional endpoints the user configures themselves (calendar feeds, a quote API, a local AI server).
